Interpreting
We offer specialist interpreters for:
Simultaneous Interpreting
Normally for conferences, with interpreters working in soundproof booths. This type of interpreting is an almost real-time rendition of what is being said and requires high levels of concentration. In highly demanding situations like this we advise that the client has two interpreters who alternate every 20-30 minutes.
Consecutive Interpreting
Normally for business meetings, court appearances or addressing small/medium-sized groups, this involves translating small sections of dialogue while the speaker pauses. Although less demanding in terms of immediacy, the effort level can be just as high because the interpreter if effectively doing twice as much talking and listening as everyone else. Again this can require interpreters to work in pairs.
Falcon Tip: The more background information provided prior to commencement of the assignment, the more prepared the interpreter will be. Such information may include a terminology list, case background or witness statements relevant to the case.
