Legal Services
Clients may on occasion require translations for official &/or legal purposes. We offer the following services to cater for such needs:
Certification
Attestation of accuracy stating that, to the best of the translator’s knowledge, the translation is a true rendering of the original text. If the translation is required for use overseas, the translator can sign his statement of accuracy before a Notary Public (see below).
Notarisation
The act by a Notary Public of certifying a signature or issuing a certificate, attesting to facts witnessed by, or proved to, the Notary and confirmed under his signature and seal. If the Notary Public is familiar with the relevant language pair, he can certify under his own responsibility that the translation is a true and accurate rendering of the original text.
Legalisation
Certification of a Notary Public’s signature by a consular or diplomatic authority, thereby validating the document for use in the relevant country. However it does not imply acceptance or approval of any words, certificates or other documents preceding the legalised signature.
One of Falcon’s Consultants is a Notary Public, and we can advise on the appropriate level of certification etc. required in a particular circumstance.
Falcon Tip: Allow extra time for any work to be carried out by a Notary Public and/or the Foreign Office or Consulate.
